Amazing Grace
September 30th, 2007

I had so much fun working at the stamp show on Friday night! Several SCSers stopped by to say hello, and that was fun! I got to meet Dave and Pat - the Rubbernecker folks, and were they a DELIGHT! Sweet as can be, and let me tell you, Dave can stamp like nobodys business. I learned so much from him about Tim Holtz Distressing Inks. A whole new world, I tell ya! The other exciting thing was finding this Amazing Grace stamp from Morningstar Stamps. I had tried to purchase the stamp over a year ago with no luck. Happy Day!
WSC 21: What a HOOT!
September 28th, 2007
Can I just say that y’all are going to be blown away with the big CHF release next week? I don’t even know how many sets they are going to release…all created by the incredibly talented, amazing scrapbook and card queen, Kim Hughes. I’d say more, but she’s so modest…I’d hate to make her uncomfortable. Anywho (or is it hoot?) ~ These are 3 of more than 25 adorable images and sayings in a set called Pretty Birds! Liz has posted some of the details, but make sure you stay tuned to the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog next week ~ there will be big, big things going on. Did I say prizes?
The real deal here is a tweaked and modified attempt at Beate’s Weekend Sketch challenge this weekend. I love how you can add or take away from her sketches and still have an adorable project for someone you care about! This one would be perfect for sharing silly party pictures! I can’t wait to see what Beate, Sharon, Charmaine and Laurie came up with! This is such a cute spring-board for ideas!
I’m off to the Great Stamp Harvest show in Kansas City. I am working at the RubberNecker Stamps booth tonight. Make sure you stop by and say hi if you are in the area! Tomorrow I am going to load a few of the projects that we did at my class this week.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! It’s Pirate Day and the Corn Husking Festival in our small town. Both at the same time, I know!!? Here’s a picture of my two favorite pirates as they headed off to school this morning! Ahoy me mateys!

Deer Season is Coming
September 26th, 2007
Wes and I have this little banter that we do if he’s in full camoflauge … He’ll want me to do something, and I’ll say, “I can hear you, but I can’t see you…maybe if I could see you!”
This is a little snack and good luck wish for me to leave for Wes on the opening day of deer season! Of course, he’ll leave here at some unearthly hour, like 4:00 a.m. so there is NO chance I would see him, camo or not. AND, he’ll say the nuts in the cello bag leave too much scent distraction to take to his deer stand, but it’s the thought that counts, right?
This is such a quick project, that I almost didn’t load it here! But, then I figured who couldn’t use a quick and easy project every once in a while?! The box idea is one of Jenn’s 2-5-7-10 Boxes with no flap. I have stamped Kraft Cardstock with Cornish Heritage Farms Woodgrain Backgrounder. I added some cut up flowers around the top to resemble leaves and then added the sentiment in BLAZE orange. LOL! I’ve hand-drawn the scope sites. I know Wes will chuckle, even if y’all don’t.
Thanks for looking! I’ll see you tomorrow!
Photo Tips
September 26th, 2007
Everyone knows that the honeymoon period is over with my and my Rebel. It’s an awesome camera, but I am just having trouble because I have had very little photography instruction. Jenn was so sweet to send me a link to an awesome photography blog. Check out Candice Stringham’s blog. She has got some awesome photography tips on there.
I’ve been so busy! I’ve a got a fun little, QUICK project that I am going to show you later today. I have some class projects to show you and some more fun, new stuff from Cornish Heritage Farms! See you soon!
Tagged by Portland Peeps
September 23rd, 2007
Wonderful family weekend! We have had a blast, and I am beat! I have been tagged this week by my friends Jami and Beate…Since I am going to see both of them live, in person in Portland in less than 3 weeks (as Jami gently reminded me! 3 WEEKS!). I will answer…At some point that weekend, I will need to sleep, and I don’t want them taking revenge. I am not tagging anyone else, but if you so inclined to share your Nascar or stripper name, comment here…
WSC 20: For Victoria
September 21st, 2007
Here is my take on Beate’s Sketch for this weekend! I made my card to send out today to Victoria. You can read about her story here, and if you are so inclined, please take action TODAY! There is a timeline to this!
SC142: Autumn Harvest
September 20th, 2007
Another fabulous Roxi Sketch this week! Get the 411 here! I used this gorgeous Apple Tree stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, for my Autumn Harvest card. The main image is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored with dye re-inkers. I wanted the leaves to shimmer, of course. So, I used VersaMark refill ink and the smallest paintbrush I own to paint over all of the yellow in the tree. I then dabbed over the VersaMark with Aztec Gold PearlX. Oh….shimmer!
Happy Mail: So Sweet
September 20th, 2007
During all the garage sale excitement last Friday, the mailman dropped off this ‘SO sweet‘ blogger RAK from Nicole Cooke. It’s adorable! I love her attention to detail, like: the paisleys over stamped on the big blossom, the crisp and thick black embossing of the sentiment and the hint of red around the edges of the white cardstock (a different take on the ‘fall back on black’ method). Make sure you check out her blog Stampin’ Library Girl. You’ll be glad you did! Nicole, thanks for thinking of me!
CHF Backgrounder Release
September 19th, 2007
Did you notice the big banner ads at SCS today? Big Backgrounder release at Cornish Heritage Farms today! Lisa Strahl has been busy, busy, busy working on these stamps. Most of them are her inspiration and work, start to finish! I think she did a fabulous job! They are wonderful! Great masculine projects await with these new background options. I am stalking the mailman, but rest assured, I’ll be posting projects SOON. I didn’t get to stamp because I helped fix dinner for 100+ people at my church today, but wanted to share something anyway! Here is a peek at one of my favorites, Wood Grain:
Thanks for stopping by!
CC132: Cherish Love
September 18th, 2007
Cherish her, and she will exalt you;
if you embrace her, she will honor you. ~ Proverbs 4:8
The youth pastor at our church announced his engagement to a woman that Wes and I adore this past Sunday. It’s such an exciting time in a young life. We are thrilled for them! I picked up a small Starbucks card so that they might enjoy a latte as they end a nice dinner date or meet to make wedding plans in the coming months.
