Wonderful News & Cry of the Week
January 31st, 2008

My church as been without a senior pastor for over a year. We have been blessed with a few great interim pastors over that time, but it’s not quite the same. This past week our congregation called a man who will be a wonderful addition to our church family. The new pastor and his wife will be here Palm Sunday, and we are THRILLED! Tomorrow’s his birthday so the church family is showering him with cards. Mine is a Thomas Kinkaid, the Forest Chapel. Kinkaid stamps combined with shimmery cardstock, inks and ribbons make for an instant classy card. The sentiment is a new CHF release Script Essentials by Mona Lisa. Full supply list at the bottom of the post.
So that’s my good news….here is what made me cry:

See that huge, gaping hole where the cutest little toothy grin used to be? It’s the end of the baby face, and since this is my youngest…it’s the end of all baby faces, isn’t it? Not really, I still have a few year’s with my brother’s precious children. But somehow, it’s not the same… So, my girlfriend laughed at me (in love, I’m sure…) and you can too, but I am sappy like this. . . almost all the time.
I’m off to run Meals on Wheels. Tomorrow is Beate’s Sketch challenge…I can’t believe I’ve made everyday this week! See you tomorrow!

Awwwww, what a sweet baby girl! You know I wasn’t laughing AT you, it was WITH you, because I know I’ll be exactly the same way once mine start losing those upper teeth!
{Hugs} And what a beautiful card — love those colors and backgrounder — it’s perfect for your new pastor!

I had that same realization at the end of the school year last year with my youngest. It just struck me that with him…it is the last time we will go through 3rd grade, the last time to talk about the maturation class (okay, so that doesn’t break my heart but still!). So, I’ve tried to keep in mind that he is my youngest and last child to do these things and to enjoy them as much as possible!
I love your card…as usual! Wish I could master those TK stamps! :o)

Beautiful care Lori and so very perfect for your new minister.
I totally understand what you mean about loosing the “baby faces”…the older your kids get, the more you will realize just how precious these younger years are. When you are going through them, you are hurried and trying to juggle so many things all at one time that it’s sometime hard to “live in the moment”, but one day you wake up and they are all grown. It happens so quickly, so enjoy every moment…even this adorable toothless grin! She looks so proud…lol

Gorgeous card.
And just wait until the grandchildren. It makes the children having to grow up sooooo worth it.

I am absolutely delighted that God has placed the right pastor in the hands of the church…and of course, it’s not the same when they aren’t “home”. I bet he will be delighted with this GORGEOUS card. And as for the big gapping hole…SOO sweet. I know that stage is around the corner. I just don’t want to admit it yet.

Oh Lori, I’m so excited for your church family. We went 18 months without a pastor. It was very hard, and very trying but God is faithful and he provided the man that He had for the job! We have been blessed with a wonderful family to serve along side of! You’re baby is so cute! Mine is 7 and has lost 8 teeth so far. She lost her first one before she turned 5! I hope that doesn’t mean she’ll be an early bloomer!!
Love your card too!

Your card is so beautiful and perfect for your new pastor!
Your daughter’s toothless grin is so cute (she’s a doll)! I know it’s sad, but you have lots more fun things to look forward to as well. (((Lori)))

Beautiful card, Lori! Ya know, I dread that day too. . .when my kids will lose their baby teeth! Thankfully, I have a little while longer for that. You’re welcome to squeeze my kids anytime!

I Love you site!!! I am in a bit of a delima. I love Stampinup!!! I am a member of Bilbe Study Fellowship and at the end of March all fifty of us (the leaders) will be attending a retreat. I would like to make a writting journal out of 5″ x 8″ legal pads, for each lady. “Yes my friend says i’m NUTS.!! But i’m at a lost as what to do. I have quite a few stampinup sets and i think i want to use the Regal Rose and Chocolate paper. Help!! if you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. I just want it to be perfect! Even though I’m far from perfect myself.
