It’s Sketch Time! Here is my take on Beate’s sketch this morning. Why have I waited so long to work with these colors? Tell me why? This came together very quickly this morning. And, that’s good as I have a long list of to-do’s today. Mainly, wait for the phone to ring so I know if I have a new niece or nephew as my precious sister-in-law has her baby today. It was all about excitement when I dropped the girls at school. They can’t wait to go see that new baby tomorrow!

I’m gonna scoot off and check out the other samples. You know that Beate, Charmaine, Jenn, Laurie, Sharon, Mary Jo and Cambria won’t disappoint you!

Editted to add: A sweet little niece arrived at 1:12 this afternoon. Woo-Hoo! I am an auntie again! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Birthday Wishes

February 27th, 2008

birthday-blossoms-lcraig-022008.jpg

Another card using Floral Frenzy from Lizzie Anne Designs. I put the smallest flower with the birds and swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder for a fairly quick birthday card. The embossed folders work so well with the Shimmery White/Cryogen White cardstock that I love. The flowers are colored with Copic Markers and embellished with bling, then cut out and adhered to the swirls.

I’ve been stamping all day and I’ll be up late as Elvis premiers tomorrow. So I’ll see you then with some fun, samples of the King of Rock N Roll. Have a wonderful evening.

Unmounted Storage Solutions

February 26th, 2008

 unmounted-monkeys-lcraig.jpg

In the last 6 months, I have started using much more unmounted, red rubber (or acrylic) stamps, with the switch came a functional storage issue. Finally last week, I found a way to store my unmounted stamps and sets that I think will work well for me. It’s from Store More Stamps. This is the Starter Set and half of one set of sleeves and inserts. Stamps cling to a sheet that slides in and out of the clear sleeves. There are currently 9 sleeves stored in this starter box, and it is full. The box dimensions are 9″ wide x 5″ tall x 3.5″ deep.

These sheets are 8×8 square, and (to give you a size idea) this photo shows 2 full $14.99 sets from the Rummage Bin line on one 8×8 sheet. Some of the Rummage Bin sets are $24.99 and those fit on one 8×8 sheet leaving spare room for single, unmounted stamps. I slip the index sheets in the back for easy viewing of what is included on each sheet. Because all of my unmounted stamps are backed with foam-mount, I only put one sheet in each sleeve. If you were storing un-clinged red rubber or acrylic, you could put 2 sheets in each sleeve, back to back, doubling your storage space. Extra sheets are available for purchase.

This is a CD storage box that I store my smaller Kim Hughes sets and Backgrounders in. This box is about 11″ long and will hold about 25 sets and/or backgrounders. I wouldn’t put much more in there or the ability to flip through would be hindered. It’s a great size to sit on the shelf right about my work desk. Very handy to flip through and pull out what I need.

Last but certainly not least is my unmounted Lizzie Anne. I love that Lizzie Anne comes to me in a CD case with pretty labels and indexes. This stackable tote from Wal-Mart holds approximately 20 sets, right at my finger tips with little space taken way from my work desk.

So that’s how I do it. Hope that this helps some of you with storage issues. It has been a real drain thinking about the best way to organize my stuff, but I feel much better now that it’s done. It should be a lot easier to sit down to my work desk and actually stamp something.

I’ll see you in the morning!

Chocolate Blossoms

February 25th, 2008

I about fell out when I saw these Chocolate Blossoms by Bazzill this weekend. I had been looking for plain chocolate paper flowers for a long time. They go perfectly with Floral Frenzy from Lizzie Anne Designs, accented here with ivory and pearls.

This is Meridith (left) and Tricia and I at CHA. They had an adorable booth at the show! One of the neatest things about working with Lizzie (Tricia) & Anne (Meridith) is that they were friends long before they started a stamp company, and they totally respect each other’s strengths in the business. It’s very cool to see them realize their dream together, and it was totally cool to meet them in real life.

  • Stamps: Floral Frenzy - Lizzie Anne Designs

  • Cardstock: Chocolate Chip and Poison Ivory

  • Ink: Chocolate Chip

  • Accs: Bazzill Blossoms, Faux Pearls - Mark Richards, Corner Rounder for scalloped edge, Crafter’s Tool Kit, Ivory Grosgrain Ribbon - Offray

It’s Friday Sketch time - and Elvis is IN THE BUILDING!

With a release date of February 28th, Cornish Heritage Farms is excited to announce the Elvis Collection. CHF is the only stamp manufacturer with licensing agreements from  Elvis Presley Enterprises.

This card is actually made up of 3 Elvis images and one sentiment. Left to right: Jump Suit Silhouette, Finger-clickin’ Elvis and Mic Swinging Silhouette. The center image is colored with Copic Markers, in just a few places, and accented with chunky white glitter. The ‘ELVIS’ is dotted with a Red Spica Glitter Pen. Here is a photo of the whole collection:

There is more new stuff coming next week from CHF, TOTALLY different than Elvis - fun, pop-culture. I’m going to try to post another sneak peak later today. Be warned, if you are a Divine Design participant, you will LOVE this new collection from CHF.

Make sure to check out the other WSC36 samples from Beate, Jenn, Mary Jo, Laurie, Charmaine, Cambria and Sharon. So many takes on one sketch.
