I had time to do the SCS Color Challenge today! OK - so maybe I didn’t have time, but I made time… Really Rust, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze. Beautiful color combo to work with. I couldn’t resist!
I had thought I would use a different stamp today, but the colors this morning just called to this adorable scarecrow from Lizzie Anne Designs. I had ordered him last week, and he was begging to see ink. 
He’s colored with Copic Markers and accented with foof-a-la bloom and dew drops. I also pulled out my new Cuttlebug embossing edges for the dots at the bottom. This was fun and fast.
I’ll be sending this card to my local friend, Carrie. She’s a busy mom of 4 little ones with a wonderfully sweet husband who farms. Harvest blessings abound to them, but farming is a hard life on the whole family, especially at planting and harvest times. Carrie has a lot of extremely long, ‘going it alone’ days this time of year. I know I’m blessed by our farming American families, and you are too (even if you don’t realize it!) If you have one of those special families in your life that’s harvesting right now, send a little pick me up. Your sincere appreciation will bring a smile in the middle of a long, tiring day. I promise, you can make a difference.

Thanks so much for the doing the cute card. And most especially for recognizing the farmers. We are a dying breed, I am afraid! And it is a very busy time of year. Cutting corn, working ground and planting wheat all at the same time! But I would not do anything else!

I ditto Debbie!! Thanks Lori for the farmer praise! We too are combining beans so we can plant our wheat and the dang truck broke down today! ugh! Sorry, didn’t means to make this into a pity party! I LUV this life and of course, I LUV your scare-crow-y card!!

Your card has brought tears to my eyes. You see, my dad was a farmer, and your scarecrow kind of reminds me of him. He always wore overalls and the ones he worked in even had patches on the knees (and many other places as well). He’s been gone for 20 years but I still miss him so much. Thanks for bringing such a sweet memory to mind!

what an adorable card! while my immediate family doesn’t farm, all of my grandparents did so I can appreciate the hard work that goes into it. plus being smack dab in Amish country, we’re surrounded by it. your card is a wondeful tribute!

I have relatives who are Iowa farmers. Not easy work. They do need a little pick me up at times. Love your card and I am sure it will bless your friend!

Thanks for the salute to farmers! We have a dairy farm and it is always busy, but harvest time really gets crazy busy, and it is one of the most dangerous professions.Few people realize this. I love the scarecrow and you did such a nice job on the card! Thanks for sharing it!
