Just For Fun: You Warm My Heart
November 30th, 2009
Here we are, home from the holiday. We spent the weekend at one of our favorite places, Branson, MO. The weather was in the low 70s – absolutely fabulous. We made it home safely, and we’ll let the hustle and bustle of Christmas begin. By dinner last night the tree was decorated, and we all watched the Disney Christmas decorating special on HGTV.
Today it’s time for another JiFFy Girl challenge. It’s fun to participate with my Just For Fun friends:
We all use the same patterned papers and stamped image. The challenges are always fun, but I got to pick the paper this month so I’m eager to see what my girlfriends came up with.
I scooped up this Cinnamon pattern from Cosmo’s Nutmeg line when I was shopping at Emma’s Paperie several weeks ago. Loved the woodgrain pattern in pink. After I had picked the paper, Michele told me she had selected one of these darling, adorable Pure Innocence girls from My Favorite Things (I think it’s out of stock but expected back SOON!). Kim (the MFT Lady) was kind enough to sponsor the JiFFy Girls this month, and word on the street is more of these cutie pie Pure Innocence girls are coming from MFT in just a day or two.
I love the size of these Pure Innocence girls. They are large enough to paper piece beautifully or color. I chose to color this time with Copics – had to much fun. I had actually stamped her on white and colored when I realized I really needed a creamier background to go with the patterned paper. Not a problem, I just airbrushed over my girl with Copic E51Milky White to give it a vanilla background and keeping the snowballs a crisp white.
The snowflake is cut from a Sizzix die and accented with Diamond Dust glitter. Sometimes I just sit and make snowflakes so I have them ready for whatever project I’m working on. With the abundance of dies and punches available these days, it’s a fun activity to do with my girls.
I’ve got lots on the calendar today…but first and foremost, I need find a cup of coffee and peek at my girlfriends’ JiFFy cards. I know they’ll be adorable.
See you tomorrow. Have a great day!

I adore everything about this card. The papers are perfect, the little girl makes me want to pick her up and give her a hug. A very sweet card, thanks for sharing. Hope your week is great.

You knocked the paper selection out of the park on this one, Lori! (The pink wood-grain was my favorite side, too. Kinda looks like funky paneling you might find from the ’70s in Mary Kay’s house or something… LOL) All your little accents — the snowflake, different stitches, button, lace, paper, the shape of the image layer, etc. — are like so many yummy sprinkles on a delightfully sweet cupcake. In other words, I love it!
