I Need Some Face Time…and a Copic Giveaway

I’ve mentioned before that I live out on the prairie, and I love my life here, but sometimes I just have to find a way to get together with some of my stampy friends. I just need a little face time! I love this ala mode set from MFT. She’s colored with Copic Sketch (colors below) on X-Press It Blending Card

This afternoon, I got to spend the whole entire afternoon with one of my favorite stampy people… *the* Miss Jen and her sweet daughter. We paper crafted the afternoon away. It was so fun!

Next week, I’m going to be heading to CHA to meet up with a lot of fabulous stampy people, including most of my Copic buddies! To celebrate CHA and all of the wonderful stuff happening in the New Year, we’re having a little Copic hop and giveaway – starting today!

Here are some of the highlights:

• In less than two weeks we will be kicking off our new Color & Ink Workshop at CHA. There’s still time to register, but space is limited, so sign up now on the Copic Website. I was a part of the planning meeting, and this is going to be a GREAT class. It’s all hands-on and all fun stuff!

• This year at CHA Copic will be expanding our fabulous line of X-Press it adhesives. Stop by the Copic booth to see our new glue, glue markers, and double-sided adhesive sheets, along with all of our other fabulous rolls of double-sided tape and foam tape.

• Copic will be showcasing a lot of new marker sets, including our new 3 pc. Sketch blending group sets. There are more than a dozen 3-pc sets to help you make smart color selections. These are a great way for beginners to start their collection, with markers that go together beautifully.

To celebrate all the excitement, we are having a fun blog hop among our designers, and giving away a fun prize pack.

Each prize pack will include an assortment of 3 markers from one of our Limited Edition 25th Anniversary sets (fine nib on one side, super brush on the other end). You also get one roll of our X-Press It 1/4in. high-tack tape, and a roll of our exclusive 1/4in. foam tape.

Leave a comment on this post before noon CST on Friday, January 4th, then hop over to each of the other wonderful Copic designers for a chance to win. Each blog will give away their own prize, so you have 8 chances to win!! Note: Due to shipping restrictions, contest is only open to residents of US and Canada.

Ruby Red Grapefruit Jelly

Last Saturday afternoon, in between last-minute card mailing, shopping and wrapping, my husband helped me make a double batch of Ruby Red Grapefruit Jelly with the annual box of Ruby Red’s we purchase from the FFA (Future Farmers of America).

I know it’s not a card, but this will be a treasured recipe for years to come. It was easy, looked beautiful in the jars, and it tastes wonderful. I wanted to share.

We gave almost all of our jars away to friends and family, so I’ll be making one more batch that will have to tide me over until next year’s box arrives.

Three cups sounds like a lot of fresh-squeezed juice, but I got that from 4 grapefruit, so definitely not too hard or time-consuming.

Happy New Year!

Bee MINE!

In the flurry of Christmas crafting this past weekend, I had to sneak in a fun card made with brand-new Paper Smooches stamps, from the set BEE MINE. It released on Saturday at Paper Smooches, so you can have it too! Kim knew I would love it because her Birds & Bees set from CHF way-back-when has always been a favorite of mine! Thank you, Kim!!

I made this for a Virtual Stamp Night challenge using the theme of friendship. I love these little bees! My bees are stamped on kraft cardstock and colored with Spica Glitter pens. Easy, I know. Little cloud die-cut is from a page of Simple Stories Snap! Sticker Icons. The kraft label and mat was cut with Rounded Scallop Frame from Verve.

I’m going to try very hard to get my cards out in today’s mail and finish up my shopping – I’m almost done…

Happy Monday!

O Holy Night

More VSN cards to share…Still time for you to get crafty with us at Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night Weekend!

This was a card that I put together for Val’s challenge last night. I love thisNativity Border die from Taylored Expressions. It cuts with such precision and the detail is so crisp and beautiful. {love}

And, finally from my first set of VSN cards, I loved this one for Tammie’s challenge, Traditional Christmas. I used a vintage image sheet from Crafty Secrets and a sentiment from MFT’s Seasonal Sentiments. This one makes me smile.

My plans today include worship with friends and family, and then I’m committed to finishing my Christmas cards, my shopping list and another project that I’m working on to help a friend. Tis the season ~

Hope you have a beautiful Sunday.

Virtual Stamp Weekend

Like every other mother in America, I have a long to-do list, but I was grateful for some time to veg out in my craft room today. Virtual Stamp Weekend is always good for card-stack replenishing!

I’ve had Santa colored for a few weeks, but several different things came up and prevented me from crafting. So, when I saw Cathy’s Fire Red challenge, I knew it was time to get Santa onto a card. This adorable Santa image is from Purple Onion Designs. I love Stacey’s style. So many cute images in her line!

Cute Critters from Kim Hughes helped me with this quick and easy greeting. Love that little moose. I’ve used him on a some kind of project every year for the last 4 or 5 ~ can’t remember for sure when he was released. This was for Lee’s awesome ‘Plaid and Cocoa‘ challenge.

I’ve got more cards done, but we’re heading out to a Christmas party with friends. I’ll try to pop them onto the blog tomorrow. If you are looking for anything to do this weekend… get crafty at Virtual Stamp Night. The challenges are designed to be easily executed, and that crafty friends equals finished cards. Hugs!

Have a wonderful night!

Christmas Light

Good morning! Welcome to the 5th Birthday Blog Hop for my friends at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! I remember getting to know Korin at Splitcoaststampers when she was just opening the store. Five years later, I have enjoyed working with her so much. Korin is truly a lady of grace and a joy to work with. I’m so happy she asked me to be hopping with Friends of Sweet ‘n Sassy today!

When I was laying out my project, I chose one of my favorite set/die combos from Sweet ‘n Sassy, Christmas Light. Look at the gorgeous detail on both the candle and the die. Love this!

My image is colored with Copic Marker – I love the brassy look of Y28. It’s not a color that I use a ton, but it sure is perfect for this image. I put a little glassy glaze over the top of my candle wax drips, and just a hint of Spica glitter pen over the flame.

My card is put together with cranberry paper from Core’dinations that has been embossed with an embossing folder and distressed just a touch with a sanding block, decorative oval die from Spellbinders and some scraps of lace that I found in a bag of cast-offs.

I hope you have time to visit our hoppers today. Korin has chosen 4 secret participant blogs where she’ll choose a random commenter to win a $15 gift certificate, so while you are browsing at the eye candy, leave the ladies some love. Comments must be made by midnight EST on Friday, November 30th. The winners will be announced on the SNSS Blog on Saturday, December 1st at 8am EST.

You can find the full hop line up HERE.

something rare

Inside sentiment:  “Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use   them, is the true measure of our Thanksgiving.” ~ W.T. Purkiser

Because it so rarely happens (at least in my circles), I wanted to show you what an entire pad of 6×6 BoBunny papers IN USE actually looks like.  🙂

All kidding aside, we are absolutely and completely blessed beyond measure at the Craig house. I hope that we use those gifts wisely.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week. ~ Lori

  • Stamp: Wheat Sheaf – Serendipity and sentiment from Thankful – Taylored Expressions
  • Paper: BoBunny
  • Ink: Chocolate Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent

Colored Glass

We’re still blitzing at Splitcoast!

Today it was my turn to share a quick holiday project, Colored Glass Votives. Seriously easy and inexpensive.  The tutorial uses just Mod Podge and waterbased re-inker, but there is an even simpler Copic variation listed at the end.  I used Christmas Ornaments stamp and die•namics set from MFT with some colored seam binding to dress up the top of my votive.  Voila!

Have a great weekend!

Sixth Annual Holiday Tutorial Blitz

It’s time for the Sixth Annual Holiday Tutorial Blitz at Splitcoaststampers. Beautiful holiday project inspiration everyday for a solid week!  Special thanks to our fabulous Creative Director, Miss Beate for finding amazing projects and guest authors.

Today’s project is a beautiful and easy, Pierced Luminaria. The tutorial was created by the talented Clare Buswell who lives in Ireland. I helped out with the video, and I really enjoyed this project! Perfect little table favor for your holiday get-togethers!

Tutorials are always available free of charge on our Resources page, and we have a bunch lined up for this week, all perfectly suited for the holidays! Enjoy the week!
