Fluttering By with Taylored Expressions Share Joy

I’m happy to (hopefully!) be sharing a little joy today! As part of Taylored Expressions 5th birthday celebration this month, their team and friends are kicking off a new round of Share Joy – a campaign designed to share hand stamped joy with different groups of people who need a lift.

Right now, cards being collected by Taylored Expressions are being shared with the Union Rescue Mission of Los Angeles, Prodigal’s Home of Phoenix, and Iowa Homeless Youth Shelter of Des Moines. These wonderful charities work tirelessly to bring comfort and care to many homeless individuals and families throughout the year. One way they are sharing joy each and every day is by celebrating the birthdays of their participants, and you can help by sending in your handmade birthday cards!

We’d love to have you  join us in today’s Share Joy challenge, the Dry Emboss Brayer technique. Very fun.

I couldn’t find my impression plates. Please don’t tell my husband. I wouldn’t hear the end of it. But, I have a lot of Taylored Expressions dies, and I love that this technique gives you interest without extra layers or bulk!

I used Cloud Duo dies,  Butterfly in the Sky and Butterfly Parade. I used the cloud dies on a piece of cream cardstock and then ran through my die-cut machine with an embossing mat underneath the cardstock. It leaves an impression without cutting through. Then I used the cloud dies again with a piece of paper to create masks for the impression area before I used my brayer to add blue ink to the background. Easy.

I hope you’ll join us and share joy this week with anyone of the five challenges that Taylor has going.  If you need a little inspiration take a peek at what these ladies have whipped up for you today:

  • Stamps: Butterfly in the Sky
  • Cardstock: cream and a scrap of paper for the grass
  • Ink: Sno Cone, Grape Jelly and Jelly Bean – My Favorite Things
  • Accs: Butterfly in the Sky & Cloud Duo dies – Taylored Expressions, clear embossing powder on the sentiment, brayer
