Hope You Can Cling To 2013

I really can’t believe it’s October 1st. For a lot of reasons it scares me…mainly Christmas will be here before you know it! But, today it’s a great day because it means that we are kicking off our 4th annual fabulous Hope You Can Cling To cancer awareness campaign at Splitcoaststampers!

Hope You Can Cling To is community event to raise awareness and collect cards for cancer patients and their families. We partner with the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, and last year we had over 3500 cards shared for the month of October. It wouldn’t be a party without prizes, and our sponsors come out in full force with prizes galore up for grabs. The whole month is a win•win.

You can see the challenge that I am hosting the Color of Courage and Strength here. I hope you can play along!

For my card, I used Copic Various ink Y35 and YR18 refills to paint the background of a canvas ATC card and then stamped my sentiment (Chalkboard Greetings – My Favorite Things) over the top with StazOn. NORMALLY, I would never suggest you use Copic and StazOn together… they are both solvents and will muddle. Only because I allowed the Copic ink to completely dry (all of about 3 minutes!), could I stamp over the top of it with StazOn! The hexagons down the side were airbrushed with Graduated Hexagon stencil from My Favorite Things.

I really hope you find time to play with us through the month, there will be a new challenge each day of October. Lots of great chatter and several thousand dollars worth of PRIZES up for grabs!

Have a beautiful day!
