MFT Previews, Day 4: Tis the Season

I’m back today with another preview for the upcoming MFT release on Tuesday night, October 8th! Today I’m showing you a new Laina Lamb set called Holiday Subway Art.

This set comes with 15 sentiments and accent pieces (plus several accent snowflakes) to create your very own subway style Christmas greeting. It might sound a little intimidating to line everything up straight, but with a stamp press, it is EASY-PEASY. Let me show you:

This is the underside of my stamp press, where I’ll adhere my stamps. I chose all of the sentiments and accent pieces that I wanted to use and lined them up on the stamp press. When I had them all lined up and square with the grid on the press, I knew how big of a rectangle I would need to cut from card stock  to stamp on.

Then I was ready to stamp. I started with my top sentiment and red ink pad and worked my way down the sentiments. With the straight edges of the sentiment, it is easy to ink up one sentiment at a time. The foam feet on the stamp press allow you to hover over your card stock and make placement adjustments right up to the point that you make contact with the paper. (This is especially easy with clear stamps! I’ve saved many a mis-stamped project by using my press to re-ink a missed area.)

When I’ve inked and pressed a color, I simply pull that stamp off, clean it up and move to my next color of ink.

And here is my white rectangle all stamped off. This method makes mass-producing a little bit easier, too. I actually did three rectangles at the same time when I made this card.

I finished my card off with a diamond image strip from the new set Large Scale Backgrounds and the ‘Merry and Bright‘ sentiment from this month’s free with $60 set, Cheerful Christmas Greetings. Both of these are stamped in Blu Raspberry Ink on Blu Raspberry card stock. Very fun!
