On the flip side of CHA

It’s 2:30 a.m., and we’re still up chatting and recapping in Florida about how wonderful it was to meet up with so many Splitcoaststampers over the weekend at the CHA SuperShow. We’ve attended several CHA shows, but this one was special because we had the opportunity host a booth and to visit with A LOT more members of the community. Thank you to each and every one of you that took the time and effort to attend. We have had a blast in Florida.

To our partner companies who hosted make & takes in our booth. The projects were all great. Between the I {heart} Splitcoast pin and your company projects, there were about 1500 make & takes completed in the SCS booth this weekend. We absolutely could not have done this without your support.

A huge thank you to JustRite Stampers, Lizzie Anne Designs, Taylored Expressions, eclectic Paperie, Crafty Secrets, Unity Stamp Company, The Cat’s Pajamas and, last but absolutely not least, My Favorite Things. You and your design team help were ROCK STARS.

I’ll be sharing more pictures in the next day or two, but this one is a quick favorite from the weekend. Daven, Jenn, Beate and I hadn’t all been together in almost 2 years. It was great to work together in the same room - since we’re usually scattered across the country.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the support, chatter, laughter, hugs & smiles.

Splitcoaststampers is the #1 papercrafting site on the web because of you - our wonderful community.

As a Kit Club subscriber, I was enamored by Jenni Bowlin’s booth. LOVE, love, *love* that Jenni is in tune with card makers and altered artist. Many pieces of her line come in a smaller scale for us card makers.  This is one of her 4″ chipboard books.

These are several styles of her 4″ chipboard books. They come with vintage inspired ledger paper inside each one.

Mini calendar cards - again on a 4″ scale. All of the calendars are perpetual and have beautiful line art on the header. You can see the full pack HERE.

img_6276.jpg

Each and every one of her patterned paper lines comes in scaled down 4″ pieces - 4 sheets of each design in each package.

And what about her beautiful bingo styled inspiration cards - now in 4″ scale. So excited!

yep, just like the label reads…’so darn cute!’

I’ll try to post a few more favorites later today! :)

Home from Chicago!

July 20th, 2008

Made it back to Kansas City late this afternoon. Had a wonderful time catching up with friends in Chicago!

Tall girls ROCK! Taylor and Debbie are both warm and genuine. Of course, you know that they are incredible paper artists, but did you know that we’re all really TALL. It’s usually the first thing someone says when they meet us for the first time, “wow! I didn’t know you were so tall!” Taylor and I are both right at 6′ and Debbie is just a little bit shorter than us. Yet another reason that I love both these ladies, muchly!

img_6251.jpg

Known by so many as HB - Carol is just a doll! We met for the first time in Anaheim, and it was instant friendship.

img_6201.jpg

You know this sweet lady . . . Anna Wight is so much fun..always smiling and laughing. Here we are at cupcake reception that the SCS team hosted for our advertisers and design team. Anna is such an incredible artists on so many fronts, I just like to hug her and pretend some of it will rub off. Good times! Good times!

Here is the CHF Design Team (minus Michele Boyer who had left) at the cupcake event: Valerie Stangle, Mona Lisa Strahl, myself, Lisa Silver, Richard Pomeroy (CHF owner), Becky Olsen, Julie Campbell (another TALL girl I {heart}) and Dawn Lusk (who I harvested this image from! thank you, sweetie!). We have a pretty live chat-life over at CHF (well, with the exception of Richard - he just keeps us in line!) so after working with these folks for almost a year, it was wonderful to hug them all.

Sharon Harnist and I were walking the show floor this morning and we ran into Lindsey Botkin and Michele Boyer, one last time.

On Thursday, I spent the entire day getting Copic certified! I had spent the night with Julie and Lisa the night before, and even without a memo, we all managed to get the pink shirt dress code down pat. Kim Leech, a wonderful friend of Cornish Heritage Farms, stopped by right as our class was letting out. I’m so glad that she did. I never ran into her again during the 4 days in Chicago. :(

I got the dress code memo this day, too! <wink> Are these girls from Unity Stamps not just the cutest? I know that Angela (owner) works with them for their incredible talent, but I’m wondering if they sent head shots with their DT applications! Brooke Lien, AJ Otto and Jennifer Buck - great, great girls! Loved getting to meet Brooke and Jennifer on this trip and wonderful to see AJ again!

And, it seems I have come home from yet another work trip and have not gotten a single photo of the SCS Team. Daven, Jenn, Sara, Kurtis and I spent a lot of time and effort trying to catch up with all of the wonderful advertisers who, with their support, keep Splitcoaststampers the number one paper-crafting site on the web.

I’m going to call it a night for now, but I have many, many photos to be uploading in the next day or so - show favorites, new stuff and beautiful displays. CHA is information over-load! For as much fun as I had, nothing compared to seeing my two sweet baby girls jumping in the driveway with excitement as I pulled in tonight. It’s good to be home.

Chocolate Blossoms

February 25th, 2008

I about fell out when I saw these Chocolate Blossoms by Bazzill this weekend. I had been looking for plain chocolate paper flowers for a long time. They go perfectly with Floral Frenzy from Lizzie Anne Designs, accented here with ivory and pearls.

This is Meridith (left) and Tricia and I at CHA. They had an adorable booth at the show! One of the neatest things about working with Lizzie (Tricia) & Anne (Meridith) is that they were friends long before they started a stamp company, and they totally respect each other’s strengths in the business. It’s very cool to see them realize their dream together, and it was totally cool to meet them in real life.

 • Stamps: Floral Frenzy - Lizzie Anne Designs

 • Cardstock: Chocolate Chip and Poison Ivory

 • Ink: Chocolate Chip

 • Accs: Bazzill Blossoms, Faux Pearls - Mark Richards, Corner Rounder for scalloped edge, Crafter’s Tool Kit, Ivory Grosgrain Ribbon - Offray

CHA - I’m back!

Home from California. It was a wonderful trip! Like a big family reunion really.

On Saturday night the SCS team hosted a meet and greet for advertisers, SCS Dirty Girls and Moderators were in attendence because many of them are connected to our supportive advertisers through design team opportunities.   This first picture is the Cornish Heritage Farms design team members at CHA, including the Fresh Faces and Thomas Kinkaid ladies.  Unfortunately, sweet Julie Campbell was sick for much of the trip so she wasn’t at this event, and Kristine Reynolds had stayed at the room with her. From left to right: Alli Miles, Debbie Olson, Val Stangle, Me, Keri Sereika, Trudee Sauer, Ellen Hutson, Mona Lisa Strahl and Sharon Harnist.

This is from the CHF booth at the show….ELVIS was in the building! I’m all shook up, and I can’t wait to get going on some designs. Keep your eyes peeled. My husband is a big Elvis fan, so I’ll be making cards for him, I’m sure. And, no…don’t have Velvet Elvis paintings in our home. ;)

Here’s a shot of the whole Elvis line.
