A Rose is a Rose…
March 3rd, 2009
This is a card that I worked on last week for VSN, and I never ended up photographing it. The roses from Flourishes are stamped in Sunshine Yellow Adirondack ink, and colored with Copic Marker YR31. I used a Spica glitter pen to accent the petals.
I used the Tulle Damask Scrapblock from Cornish Heritage Farms to finish off the bottom of the panel. A little ribbon and a few white Kaiser pearls finish this off. I’ll add a sentiment when I decide where I’m sending this. Thanks for looking. I’ll see you tomorrow.
And, what about the winner of the sketch challenge?
Here are your random numbers:
42
That would be Stephanie Kraft with a so pretty card with Verve stamps. Congrats, Stephanie! Thanks to all for playing along. I loved looking at all of your cards. I know I’ll be using that sketch again.
New Love
February 21st, 2009
Another VSN card I made this morning. Challenge: Make a card using the new things you love! Everything on the card (except the cardstock and ink) should be new within the past two months or something you’ve been hoarding that you’ve never used before.
Stamps - These Flourishes Roses arrived here last month. They hadn’t seen ink. I love yellow roses. Another fun find from CHA and available from Flourishes are the Foil Strips from Flower Soft. These thin strips come on a sheet with many, many pieces. You peel and stick to your layer edges for an instant soldered look without the mess. Definitely a new love. The sentiment is from Crafty Secrets, a set called Card Sentiments. Roses stamped on Shimmery White with Sunshine Yellow Adirondack ink. I smear the ink with my fingertip just a bit after stamping to lightly color the petals of the flowers. Then each rose is accented with a clear Spica glitter pen for a little extra shimmer.
More to come…the party continues over at Splitcoast. Lots of card making today.
