Welcome to Hope You Can Cling To

SHINE HYCCT1401B

It’s here. Hope You Can Cling To is here. It is such a special time at Splitcoaststampers when we spend a lot of time creating and crafting in honor of cancer patients and their families…sharing hope one card at a time.

HYCCT Blinking

To kick things off today, I am hosting a challenge. You can find the details right here, and I hope you’ll join us! My challenge is on post #2, but I encourage you to participate in as many as you can because there are many fabulous creative sparking ideas and literally thousands of dollars in prizes up for grabs at the end of the month.

SHINE full HYCCT1401B

Cancer is dark and ugly, but hope shines bright! And my challenge is about hope for a cure, hope for a future, hope for support and encouragement. My challenge to SHINE ON! To use an image that evokes shine in some form or fashion. I love the Watt’s Up set and coordinating Lightbulb Dienamic from MFT, and in this case it was perfect for my challenge.

I used a Copic Airbrush and marker Y38 to airbrush behind a vellum lightbulb and some clear fine glitter for extra SHINE.

Join us this month! You’ll enjoy the challenges, meet some new friends, maybe find a fun new recipe in the What’s for Dinner chat thread :) and help share hope with people who are facing dark situation. All month long, let your light SHINE.

People Who Love to Eat

We’re getting ready for Halloween night here at the Craig house, and there are a few people here who LOVE to eat…candy. To me…they are the best people! My daughters cannot wait for tonight. We have a busy trick-or-treater street, so we’ll see lots of family friends. It’s a good time.

Michele and I were chatting about some new Stamping Bella images that we both ordered from the last (killer) release that Emily had in September, and we thought it would be fun to share a really cute one… Chanel  the Chef! So we are each sharing a Chanel card today. You can see Michele’s card here.

I colored Chanel with Copic Markers while I was watching a Texas Tech football game, and I made a quick card this morning for Jennifer’s sweet Hope You Can Cling To challenge, Put on Your Brave Girl Boots. I paired my image with Doodlebug Paper and a few Doodlebug Sprinkles.

We are in the last day of cancer awareness challenges for Hope You Can Cling To at Splitcoaststampers, but you still have until midnight on November 7th to finish your cards and upload them to be eligible for prizes. I hope you’ll carve out a few minutes over the next week to participate with us, if you haven’t already. The MD Anderson Center sure loves working with us!

I can’t wait to see Michele’s card. It will be super cute! I hope you’ll check it out!

America the Beautiful

Seeing the ‘sea to shining sea’ this week and finishing off my travels for the year with some 2014 Copic planning meetings in the Pacific Northwest.

This is a card that I made for Kittie’s Hope You Can Cling To challenge this week, Scene of Serenity. I tore this page from an old, falling apart hymnal that I bought at the thrift store. I’ve enjoyed using up the pages over the last month or two. This single stamp image is from Hero Arts Silhouette Grass, and I bought it from our fabulous sponsor Simon Says Stamp!

Hope you are having a crafty, crafty week! I’ll be back soon with another Hope You Can Cling To card! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Very Much!

Today’s Hope You Can Cling To challenge had me be-bopping weeks ago when I saw the challenge concepts! I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of different stamps over the years, and one thing that always makes me smile is digging out my Elvis stamps from my days at Cornish Heritage Farms. (They are now retired, and whenever I use them, I’m asked about where to find. I have no idea or connection, so I’m apologizing now.) This one is still my favorite:  Jumpsuit Elvis.

I went the thank you route because when a family goes through a difficult time, thank you notes are always needed… Since it’s October, I went all pink and paired Elvis with Raspberry Clearsnap ink and KneeHighs paper from Basic Grey. Pretty clean and simple. :)

Still plenty of month to join us in our Hope You Can Cling To card drive for the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Have I mentioned that there are over $5,000 in prizes that will be awarded at the end of the month to challenge entries? What are you waiting for? If you need a little help getting started, here’s an FAQ thread from the HYCCT forum. Link me to a few of your entries in the gallery in the comments below. I’d love to see!

I’m on my way to Portland to meet up with the Copic instructor team to discuss 2014 classes and curriculums. It’s going to be a great week. Lots of fun challenges coming up this week, so I’ll definitely pop in and share as the days go by! Have a good one!

Cupcake Cutie

Day two of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at Splitcoaststampers. I’m on a roll. :)

This card is for Lee’s challenge, Show Off Your Cupcakes! Another fun one with Build-a-Treat stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions. I’m going to try to do most of the challenges this month. Trying to carve out a little time each morning.

If you love browsing pretty pieces of paper, you can see all of the shared Hope You Can Cling To gallery projects here.

Have a great day, and hopefully, I’ll see you tomorrow.

You Lift Me Up

I’ve got another Hope You Can Cling To challenge sample for you… Beate’s challenge is to create a card that illustrates ‘ray of hope,’ and you can read about it here. Loved using this beautiful set and dies from one of our gracious our sponsors, Verve Stamps.

I’m going to be busy stamping this morning…I want to really give it the college try to complete all of the challenges this year. I can’t win any PRIZES <– amazing list of sponsors and prize donations here… but, I love trying all of the ideas, and I’m happy to have cards to support cancer patients and families.

I’ll be back soon, and if you’re playing any of the challenges – leave me a comment with a link to your card so I can see your paper pretties! Thanks for stopping by!

Made of Awesome

It’s Hope You Can Cling To TIME!

My challenge for Hope You Can Cling To is up and running. The challenge is to create ‘cards for kids’… you can get all of the details and grab the free digi images HERE.

I used Lightening Boy (free digi on my challenge thread) and markers from one of our gracious sponsors, Copic Markers with some October Afternoon for a super quick and easy boy card. I can’t wait to get a stash of cards made for The MD Anderson Cancer Center.

I’ll be back soon… I’ve got more samples to share. Thanks for stopping by!

Hope You Can Cling To – all month long

It’s time for Hope You Can Cling To… We’ve been working for months at Splitcoaststampers on the details for our THIRD annual Hope You Can Cling To campaign for cancer awareness.

Lydia is hosting the first challenge this morning.  I had a sigh of sweet relief when I read her challenge. I think you’ll find it just as comforting and fun as I did.

We have 32 more challenges to bring you over the next month. Hope you can find one, two or twelve that strike your creative chord.  Tons of fun (and prizes) up for grabs this month. Join us!

Be back soon!
