WSC44: Ahh, October Afternoon
April 18th, 2008

Remember when I talked about ‘hoarding issues’ back at Easter? Well, here’s something I have been hoarding since February 13: October Afternoon Detour papers. I spent some time in their booth at CHA with Emily….of course, I tried not to drool on her beautiful, beautiful displays…there is just something about these papers, the feel of them is different and the colors are so vibrant. Since I have pre-ordered and expect some more soon, I finally felt like I could cut up the few swatches that Emily gave me to play with.
This is for Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge. I hope you have time to play with it this weekend! This is a GREAT sketch to show-off those patterned papers or perhaps you might be interested in checking out the Backgrounder Blitz at CHF. From tonight til next Friday, you can participate in daily challenges and perhaps win prizes, prizes, prizes.
As for the sketch, you can see other wonderful samples from Beate, Charmain, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Mary Jo and Sharon.

No Spring Skips it’s Turn
March 30th, 2008

Spring is coming… I just looked at the 10 day forecast, and if they are right, we should be above freezing from here on out! Finally! This flower from the Lizzie Anne Designs Far East set is perfect for me! I have a watergarden that blooms the prettiest lilies in June. Right now it looks more like THIS. I had to laugh when I read that linked post from March 2007. Last March, I was lamenting that I wanted that quote in red rubber. Lizzie and Anne were so happy to ablige with Say it in Script, and this spring it’s all mine! Thank you, Lizzie Anne!

Sweet eP Friends
March 14th, 2008

What a treat to be the eP friend today. I have *known* Joy Kennedy, eP c0-owner, for several years. I’ve always admired her stamping talents in a swap group that we both belong to and her business savvy approach to securing the most ‘hip’ stamping tools. For example, several years ago, Joy (joyofstamping) was the go-to girl for rubi-coils when everyone had to have the rubi-coil binder. I have oodles and oodles of colors & sizes thanks to her efforts to bulk buy and distribute. I was super excited when she joined forces with Daisy Sparks (laterdais) to open what you know and love as eclectic Paperie.
eP always strives to carry the hottest new stamping and scrapping items, and they put their crafter’s heart into their business with special promotions (many of which come with a small hand-stamped token of appreciation) and wonderful customer service. It’s been delightful to watch their business grow and to be able to build a friendship with both to these cool chicks on my SoCal trips in the last year.
Of course, one of my favorite things at eP is their line of Lizzie Anne Designs stamps. This card is with the Gettin’ Hitched set. With 2 posts this morning, I’d better get to the laundry, but if you got a little time, check the chicks at eP and see the fun stuff that’s ‘in store’ for you!

WSC39: Thanks so much!
March 14th, 2008

Sketch time! I loved this sketch from Beate! The open canvas was great for this Far East - Lizzie Anne idea that I have had for a while. My lanterns are embossed on Cryogen White cardstock in vibrant colors and clear embossing powder. Then, I covered the bulb portion of the lantern with scratch paper and stamped the leaves over the hang loops to give the appearance of the lanterns hanging on the reeds. The flowers are accented with faux pearls. And, thanks to Cami, I was able to re-work a little issue I had been having with my Sew-Mini and it seems to be fine, now. Hmmm, yeah, you have to thread it right in order for it to work properly. <duh>

I’m going to check out the other sketch cards this week. You can see Beate, Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, Laurie, MaryJo and Sharon by clicking their names. I’ll be back later this morning with a bit more *news* and such. Thanks for stopping by!
WSC37: Friends
February 29th, 2008

It’s Sketch Time! Here is my take on Beate’s sketch this morning. Why have I waited so long to work with these colors? Tell me why? This came together very quickly this morning. And, that’s good as I have a long list of to-do’s today. Mainly, wait for the phone to ring so I know if I have a new niece or nephew as my precious sister-in-law has her baby today. It was all about excitement when I dropped the girls at school. They can’t wait to go see that new baby tomorrow!

I’m gonna scoot off and check out the other samples. You know that Beate, Charmaine, Jenn, Laurie, Sharon, Mary Jo and Cambria won’t disappoint you!
Editted to add: A sweet little niece arrived at 1:12 this afternoon. Woo-Hoo! I am an auntie again! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Birthday Wishes
February 27th, 2008

Another card using Floral Frenzy from Lizzie Anne Designs. I put the smallest flower with the birds and swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder for a fairly quick birthday card. The embossed folders work so well with the Shimmery White/Cryogen White cardstock that I love. The flowers are colored with Copic Markers and embellished with bling, then cut out and adhered to the swirls.
I’ve been stamping all day and I’ll be up late as Elvis premiers tomorrow. So I’ll see you then with some fun, samples of the King of Rock N Roll. Have a wonderful evening.
Chocolate Blossoms
February 25th, 2008

I about fell out when I saw these Chocolate Blossoms by Bazzill this weekend. I had been looking for plain chocolate paper flowers for a long time. They go perfectly with Floral Frenzy from Lizzie Anne Designs, accented here with ivory and pearls.
I
This is Meridith (left) and Tricia and I at CHA. They had an adorable booth at the show! One of the neatest things about working with Lizzie (Tricia) & Anne (Meridith) is that they were friends long before they started a stamp company, and they totally respect each other’s strengths in the business. It’s very cool to see them realize their dream together, and it was totally cool to meet them in real life.

WSC34: Celebrate You!
February 8th, 2008

Here is a celebration card for Beate’s sketch challenge today. It’s the card that almost didn’t happen.
As this post goes live, I’m in route to the airport and when you’re last minute like me, late night stamping can get in the way of late night packing. So, the blah, blah is short, but I’ll sneak this in… today is a special, birthday kind of day for someone you all love. (Was I supposed to announce that? hmmm) Leave her some love when you check our her sketch card today. Then check out the other samples from Beate, Cambria, Charmaine, Laurie, Mary Jo and Sharon.
I hope you enjoy! I have another post coming up in a little over an hour, and projects lined up for each day that I’m gone to CHA, and I’m sure I’ll sneak a few photos in over the show.

Earth laughs in flowers…
February 4th, 2008
The sweet, sweet gals at Lizzie Anne are finishing up CHA preparations, and that includes the new 2008 catalog. This is a sample that I made for the catalog featuring the set In the Meadow. I love the naturalist style of these images…so real. I can’t wait to get to CHA and hug Meridith and Tricia. So much fun to be had in the next 10 days.

Thanks for stopping by…with all of our trip preparations and deadline creating, I’m a Mess! Tomorrow, I’ll show you just how much.
Have a wonderful Monday!
