WSC36: Elvis!

It’s Friday Sketch time – and Elvis is IN THE BUILDING!

With a release date of February 28th, Cornish Heritage Farms is excited to announce the Elvis Collection. CHF is the only stamp manufacturer with licensing agreements from  Elvis Presley Enterprises.

This card is actually made up of 3 Elvis images and one sentiment. Left to right: Jump Suit Silhouette, Finger-clickin’ Elvis and Mic Swinging Silhouette. The center image is colored with Copic Markers, in just a few places, and accented with chunky white glitter. The ‘ELVIS’ is dotted with a Red Spica Glitter Pen. Here is a photo of the whole collection:

There is more new stuff coming next week from CHF, TOTALLY different than Elvis – fun, pop-culture. I’m going to try to post another sneak peak later today. Be warned, if you are a Divine Design participant, you will LOVE this new collection from CHF.

Make sure to check out the other WSC36 samples from Beate, Jenn, Mary Jo, Laurie, Charmaine, Cambria and Sharon. So many takes on one sketch.

Spring Poppies

Wanted to be sure and share this Birthday Blessings card with you. The poppies are from Asela, a wonderfully talented CHF illustrator. They are stamped on a Fabriano notecare in Palette Burnt Umber and watercolored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

CHA opens today! Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to share some pictures with you later in the day. Have a blessed Sunday.

Earth laughs in flowers…

The sweet, sweet gals at Lizzie Anne are finishing up CHA preparations, and that includes the new 2008 catalog. This is a sample that I made for the catalog featuring the set In the Meadow. I love the naturalist style of these images…so real.  I can’t wait to get to CHA and hug Meridith and Tricia. So much fun to be had in the next 10 days.

Thanks for stopping by…with all of our trip preparations and deadline creating, I’m a Mess! Tomorrow, I’ll show you just how much. 😉 Have a wonderful Monday!

WSC33: Time to Love

wsc33-lcraig-020108.jpg

You can blame the wonky picture length on Beate and her sketch. LOL! I hadn’t really made anything this size before (8.5″ x 3.5″ – fits a business size envie). I rather liked it! The sentiment is from Time to Stamp says, “Time to love with all your heart is priceless.” Not sure who I’ll send this to.

WT150: Painted Blooms?

paint-blooms-lcraig-012308.jpg

I just got a shipment of Ranger Crackle Paint from CHF on Tuesday, so this Ways to Use It challenge was perfect timing for me! I also thought it high-time my Grid Paper Backgrounder saw a little ink. This was totally out of the norm for me, and I love the results. Here’s how I did it:

SC159: Emerging Blooms

sc159-lcraig-011608.jpg

Wonderful sketch for the SCS Challenge today. Thank you, Roxie…she always does a knock-out job. This is the emerging color technique. You can find a full tutorial here. Basically, I stamped the Spanish Script backgrounder in Latte Adirondack ink. Then I stamped the Silhouette Blooms (from cutie-patootie, Kim Hughes) in VersaMark over the top of the script. Next I embossed the blooms with clear embossing powder and rolled more Latte ink over the whole thing with my brayer. Finally, I wiped the excess ink off of the detailed blooms and cut my scalloped rectangle. Voila.

May your weeds be wildflowers…

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. ~  II Corinthians 12:9
