Craft Studio Tour

FullSizeRender (91)

I can’t believe that we moved into this house two years ago this month! I’d say it is past time to give you a craft studio tour, but it has taken a while for me to pull things together!

My studio is right off of our kitchen, so I spend a lot of time in here and I also feel very fortunate to have this room so close to the central hub of our home. When we moved into this house, I replaced many of our interior doors with old 5-panel doors that I brought from my last house. The doors had been in the attic of our 100 year old Victorian, and I sent them straight to the moving truck when we left. This windowed door came from my grandparents’ old farm house before it was torn down about 12 years ago.

In December I made a daytrip to the Pioneer Woman Mercantile with my friend Laurie Willison, and I feel in love with this felted rainbow garland.  I thought this would be perfect to drape over the inside of the window. The felted dove and fig leaf ornament find was icing on the ROYGBIV cake. (Genesis 8:11) So hard to photograph things resting on or through glass!)

Come on in, and I will show you my space… It is definitely meant to be functional for me and that means I have a lot of my stuff visible so that I will use it, but I do try to keep things picked up and somewhat organized since it is open to our kitchen. This is also something that has come together over a long period of bargain hunting. 🙂

Thank you … and a hop winner

Thanks to many of your tips and a few ideas that I’ve collected on Pinterest (you can follow me here – I recommend Crafty Spaces, Copic Marker, Beautiful Clean and Simple Cards or Pretty Pieces of Paper for crafting…. Ranch Redo for some current remodeling ideas on our new home or if you are like my family and like to eat, Recipes to Try), I feel like I’ve got some good things going. Our remodeling starts this week.

Thanks to all who hopped by to welcome Jennifer Dove to the Copic team over the weekend, too. My blog hop winner is Carisa who said:

that built in is stunning!!!! I don’t have ANY solutions as I have such a mix match of things and no pretty set up or solutions AT ALL. I’m tempted to get a scrap box one of these days though!

I have unpacked a few things because I’m getting crafty this week, so I’ll see you again soon.

Crafty Spaces Blog Hop

Today the Copic instructors are sharing photos of their crafty spaces to give you a glimpse of where we create to celebrate Copic in the Craft Room.  Copic in the Craft Room will be an on-going discussion with Copic lovers everywhere. Look forward to tips and sharing that will inspire you to get crafty, as well as, education for all skill levels.

This is my stamping space… The area used to be a closet that took up my full wall. (You can see the before here.) In 2012, at the suggestion of one of my friends, we closed off each end of the closet to make two separate storage areas and added this desk section to the middle of the closet space. It turned out so nice, and I love sitting here, coloring and listening to music. Probably my favorite thing is the little chandelier! And, no it isn’t always this clean! 🙂

Like many of my fellow instructors, I store my Copics in Color Cubbies from Studio 3 right at arms length on my desk. I have the cubbies to store my Sketch, a few Copic Originals, ink pads and other random schtuff. 😉

I can’t wait to see all of the other instructors spaces. I’ve visited several of their homes, so I know you are in for a treat! Stop by and visit. Leave them some love, if you are so inclined:

When you’ve cruised their spaces, stop by Copic in the Craft Room and share pictures of your space. Clean or dirty… it’s all good. Crafty spaces are cool, and we can all learn a little from almost everyone. 🙂

Back soon. I’ve been making cards out of all of those images I colored over Christmas break!

Painting Office Storage Tutorial

A few months ago we produced a Product Focus at Splitcoast for one of my favorite storage solution companies, Stamp-n-Storage. I have several of their pieces in my office, and I put together a little tutorial to show you how I’ve painted my wooden pieces to match my office decor. It’s very easy. Just pay attention to a few key details and exercise a little patience for drying time. You can see the full review here and the tutorial here.

I’m working on a longer post with a tour of my office since we are basically finished with our renovation work now. Maybe in the next few days I can finish that up.

Have a great day!

Stamping Space

We had some friends over this weekend for a fabulous evening of fajitas. I got to thinking I should share a few photos of my stamp room before real life set in and it got destroyed while everything was still ‘company ready’.  I always enjoy seeing how other addicts, like myself, deal with all the tools and clutter. My stamp room/office/wii room is right off of the back entry to our home and open to our kitchen and eat-in area. Multi-purpose is an understatement.
