Fluttering By

Fluttering By with fun, new Taylored Expressions today! New Beautiful Butterfly Foil It panels with ink blending come together for this soft butterfly palette.

If you are a Taylored Expressions fan, you know they always offer a free with $100 purchase gift, and every few months TE releases the once-giftable stamps or dies with fun new accessory pieces. Today is the day!

I used the Swirly Roses Mini Slim Stencil to create a backdrop of Mint Melody and Salt Water Taffy on a Mini Slim Circle die cut piece. The butterfly were foiled on Sugar Cube Cardstock and then blended with ink and my blender brushes to create colored wings. The entire panel is splattered with Bleed Proof White and accented with Tiny Diamonds.

The Fluttering By Mini Strips were perfect little sentiments to add between the butterflies. There are a variety of sentiments that work well paired together or as stand-alone thoughts.

My second card this week is a favorite because I truly do get by with a little help from my hens! LOL

I used the Spring Chickens Stencil with the new Chicken Wire Background Stamp and Just Chicken In sentiment stamps. The Spring Chicken Stencil is a triple-layer collection to give you a fun variety of colors and styles of hens. There is a small set included to add beaks, combs, and chicken litter. 🙂 This entire product suite pairs perfectly with the Hexagon Stacklet Dies. I paired Confetti Cake, Toffee and Watermelon colors to create a fun palette. I finished my card off with tiny white clay hearts colored with OLO Marker.

This ended up being my favorite card from the newly released products. I paired the popular Sketched Hearts dies with Black Licorice cardstock and layered them on Toffee Woodgrain cardstock. The sentiment is a Mini Strips – Floral. I used Grateful for You. It’s finished off with white clay hearts that are colored with black OLO Marker.

The hearts and woodgrain are set on a panel of foiled leaves for just a tad bit of shimmer.

If you’d like to add any of these fun new products to your collection, TE has a special promotion to share! Sweet Seaside Escape

It’s time for a Seaside Escape with the Taylored Expressions June monthly kit that includes fantastic items for summer birthday, thinking of you, sympathy and congratulations cards.

The dies, stencils and add-on accessories make creating fantastic cards as easy as a summer breeze. Here I paired Mint Julep, Poblano Pepper, Cookie Monster, and Banana Cream Pie together for a dreamy color combination.

This was my favorite card of the collection with the sentiment, You’re a Treasure! I love the stencil that colors all of the seashells and the stencil that cuts every single one with one swift pass. So easy! Mine are splattered with a little white “seafoam” for effect.

As much as I loved working with the kit, the new mini slim dies are something I requested months ago, and I’m thrilled to have them in my collection. They make layers so easy!

Time to Start Holiday Gifts – 2024 Calendars

It’s hard to believe, but I’ve started thinking about holiday gifts already. I’ve stamped a few things, bought a few things, and cross-stitched a few things. I love to do this when I’m not super crunched for the season! Taylored Expressions is ready to help you out with an assortment of 2024 calendar products that are ready to go!

I used the Wild Squad dies to create a landscape desk calendar set. The critters are so cute, and I used a collection of fun TE stamp and stencil die combos to create colorful backgrounds. I used the Square Tear Off Calendar Stacklets to create the image and frame combo. The decorative border dies were a fun way to add interest to the bottom of my calendar page.

I think the frog and the butterflies is my favorite! What’s yours?

Next up, I used the beautiful Square Calendar Cards – Friendly to make some tear-off calendars. I quickly colored all of the images with OLO marker and added some glitter to highlight the petals on each frame. These are a perfect gift that you can put together in a short window of time for service professionals, neighbors, and teachers. There are several adorable calendar styles to choose from – quirky, funny, and cute. I love the florals shown here.

These are awesome with a magnet on the back or displayed in the Walnut Wood Display stand. I used the Decorative Border dies to add interest to the cardstock backdrop and the Square Tear-Off Calendar Stacklets to create my frames.

Aren’t these fun?

Speaking of FUN! Right now, while supplies last, we’ve put together a bundle of new calendar items that you can purchase with just one click! The Mo-La-La Calendar Bundle includes the Square Calendar Cards – Moo-la-la, Scratch Off Stickers, 2024 Landscape Calendar, Decorative Borders die collection, and Walnut Wood Display Stand for $39.50. It’s so easy to get all the new calendar goodies that you need to start crafting ASAP!

Sweet Summer

The sweetness of summer. It’s absolutely my favorite. And, my most favorite is being outside in the solace of trees, water, mountains, and the Ozark hills where I live. The new Taylored Expressions summer stamp and die release celebrates all of these things and more!

I created this card by ink blending multiple panels of Sugar Cube cardstock to represent the tree-line, purple mountain majesty, and a gorgeous orange-pink moon rise over the campsite. The landscapes were cut using the new Serene Scene Landscapes Vol. 2 dies. After ink blending, I used a trick I learned from Jen Shults to create texture on my blended layers by spritzing them with alcohol for a color lift. On the star background panel, I used the Splatter Background stamp and Sea Salt ink to lift the more prominent stars before cutting the Big Dipper into the panel with the die from the same Landscapes Vol. 2 die set. So cute!

My camper was built from the Serene Scenes Camping Additions die set. All of my pieces started as Sugar Cube cardstock, and I used the Bitty Blender Brushes to add color. I finished everything off with foam tape and a fun sentiment from the Happy Camper stamp set.

The colors I used to create this scene are: Peapod and Cilantro (grass and treeline), Macaron and Jelly Donut (purple mountain majesty), with Dragon Fruit, Plum Punch, Candy Corn, and Pineapple (sky), and Cookie Monster, Confetti Cake, Pineapple, Toffee, Candy Corn, Earl Grey, and Pink Champagne for the tent and camper.

What’s a summer get together without high-flying clouds and colorful kite-tails dancing in the wind? It’s the Flying High stamp and stencil combo with Let’s Go Fly a Kite coordinating dies for the win! I used the Cloud Stacklet dies as a place for my sentiment to rest – stamped from the new set, Mini Strips – Carried Away. I simply masked off the surrounding sentiments to use only WHAT’S UP, FRIEND?

My color combo for this card is Candy Corn, Cookie Monster, and Watermelon. The layering stencil makes it easy to keep the different layers super clean. I used the Stitched Rectangle and Petite Scallop Rectangle dies to frame my scene. I love this colorful card!

My third design for the week showcases a fun new set to color, Happy Home and Oh My Word – Welcome stamps and coordinating dies. My homes are colored with OLO marker. The Here Comes the Sun stencil makes a perfect sun glow behind the row houses.

My final card features the Flying High, Let’s Go Fly a Kite, and Carried Away Mini Strips that will be used in Heather’s Craft Along Class (details below!). I created a simple scene with the Cloud Cutting Plate and the Hexagon Stacklets. I have a friend with a 4th of July birthday, so this traditional Independence Day color combo of Blueberry, Cherry Pop, and Sugar Cube will be perfect for her!

When you purchase the Flying High Bundle (Flying High Stamp & Stencil Combo set, Let’s Go Fly a Kite die collection, and Mini Strips – Carried Away stamp) through Sunday, June 18th, you will get a free exclusive video craft-along class with Heather Nichols!

Love Grows Here

It’s time for another Taylored Expressions Cart Kit, and I have NO SHELF-CONTROL! It’s actually true. One of my other hobbies is keeping a collection of heirloom Christmas cactus I’ve collected from my grandmothers and great-grandmother live and thriving. My great-grandmother passed away in 1993, and one of her daughter’s gave me a start about 6-7 years ago. I love my cacti!

This Love Grows Here Cardmaking Kit though… it’s the cutest collection of stencils and dies you have ever seen to create the plants and pots in an easy blend-and-slide set that makes the creation easy to execute. Then there is a cute sentiment stamp and die set with some really punny sayings. It’s all bundled up in one perfect little kit! It speaks to me!

I loved this sentiment, no shelf control! And I thought it would be adorable paired with the Big Circles Background. Just stacks and stacks of lush, pretty green peeking out of the planter holes!

The awesome thing about the die in this collection is that it’s a stamp once, cut once for six different images product. So, mass production or shelf-control is quick and easy. I’ve created a few different color combos of succulents here. I have Avocado and Sweet Basil ink for a muted look, and then I have a brighter combo created with Granny Smith and Kiwi inks. I’ve used the Milky Gel Pen to add white accents to a few of my plants and blooms.

Confetti Cake cardstock cut with the Big Circles Background makes the perfect stage. Behind the circles, I’ve embossed the cardstock with the Dotted Diamonds Embossing Folder for subtle tone-on-tone texture.

In my second sample, I used a square masking stencil to create a frame for my potted plants with Confetti Cake ink. I splattered my square with Dr. ph Martins Bleed Proof White. Then I use one of the detail stamps included in the kit to create a little cross-stitch landing. Isn’t this the cutest sentiment, have an un-be-leaf-able birthday! LOL

I used the Diagnol Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets to givec my layers of Sugar Cube cardstock a little extra oomph. I finished everything off with a few white Tiny Diamonds.

When I’m sending my cards out, there is the cutest little collection of Love Grows Here envelope seals to go with the kit. They are not included in the kit, so don’t miss the add. Super cute!

The Love Grows Here Cardmaking Kit retails for $65, is packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom sticker, and includes:

  • Let Love Grow Layering Stencil & Clear Combo set
  • Let Love Grow die collection
  • Shelf Control stamp set
  • The Insiders – Love Grows Here panels

Most kit items are not available to purchase individually.

Additional products available to purchase outside of the kit: Shelf Control die collection, Knock on Wood Background stamp, Love Grows Here envelope sealsDotted Diamonds embossing folderFoil it – Essential Patterns panels, and The Insiders – Love Grows Here panels.

America!

It’s a patriotic party at Taylored Expressions! The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It means family, friends, and a boat on the water! And, I do send patriotic cards to my friends and family, so I’m always looking to expand my collection to create handcrafted cards, party favors and little decor pieces.

My first card features the new Old Glory heart stamp. The stamp is unique in the way the stars and stripes position together in red rubber, but easily pull apart so that inking is crisp and clean. I stamped the blue stars and then positioned the stripes, removed the stars and stamped the stripes in red. So crisp!

The star functions the same way, it’s so easy to stamp the elements in respective colors without any cross-blending or contamination on the stamp as you are working.

The backdrop for the stars is a foiled America the Beautiful. I’ll be ordering several more packages of the foil its! So pretty and fast to pull together.

A few diecut stars and thread behind the star pull this together beautifully on a scalloped layer background.

The Fly Your Flag banner is quick and adorable as well. I’ve used the Land that I Love sentiment and accented with red glitter drops. The heart and sentiment looked great on the Pierced Hearts Cutting Plate piece.

My favorite card from the release is a little unconventional as I’ve used blooms from Sketchbook Blooms stamp set to create the A in a big foiled AMERICA. The blooms are colored with OLO marker, and the sentiment:

America! God shed his grace on thee

stretches like a banner over the focal panel. I love the Champagne Foil with the Foil It patterns, and I’ve accented with a thin gold cardstock frame cut from the A2 Frames Cutting Plate.

The whole panel is accented with clear Drip Drops.

Finally, I have a sweet Gus and Gertie image to share with you. This one is part of the Patriotic Promo (details below). I’ve simply popped the dynamic duo (colored with OLO) up over the Full Circle Patrioc stamped image – accented with glitter. Have a Star Spangled Day from the Foil It collection snazzes it up instantly for a cheery 4th of July greeting!

Right now through 11:59PM CT, Sunday, May 28th when you make a purchase of $100 or more in the TE webstore, you will receive the Gus & Gertie – 4th of July Stamp & Die Combo set FREE! Gus and Gertie are dressed in their patriotic best and ready to celebrate! Please note that this promotional set replaces our May incentive set during this release week. Offer valid while supplies last.

Adding to the RAINBOW

Give me all the BLUES! and PINKS! and MANGO! and even DILL PICKLE! It’s new color ink and cardstock release day at Taylored Expressions! With seven gorgeous new colors to extend the RAINBOW! Don’t these blues scream summer? Here I’ve paired them with Pool Party and OLO Marker. Water are you waiting for?

Oh YES! Get a load of these new pinks – Dragon Fruit and Bubblegum! YUM! I call this color way The Candy Striper. I’ve paired most of my designs today with the phenominal new Easy Strip Maps that make colorful cardstock backgrounds so easy. There are new Easy Strip Stitched dies in the store, and it’s just easy as can be to line the strips up or make beautiful patterned backgrounds lickety-split. The stamp set here is full of fun sentiments, and the set name is the same as this one, “oh yes, you did!” I gave this card to my daughter for her college graduation.

I think a few solid layers of cardstock turn the simplest card with just a greeting and some jewels into something special and more substantial, so I know I’ll be using the Easy Strip Maps over and over.

Pretty much the best ink new color beauty! The Daisy Dreams stamp, die and stencil combo that was released in the For Her collection is just beautiful in coneflower colors. Here I’ve paired the Bubblegum and Dragon Fruit with Mango and Dill Pickle for bright summer fun!

And, throw a little KIWI into the fruit smoothie! The Easy Strip Maps are also great for layering with simple die shapes, like these Subtle Sprigs and Thinking of You. The maps are on thin weight paper, so after you create your design, you are still able to die cut the thickness of the color way. Here I put a white scallop layer in between, and everything just POPS. Can you tell that I am in love with the new colors?

Finally, I had to throw in some Christmas red (Cherry Pop!) and some Dill Pickle green. They pair perfectly with the Little Critters Christmas collection. Love, love the new Stitched Strip Dies and Maps to create fun, fast, colorful backgrounds. These will make Christmas cardmaking a breeze!

What is your favorite new color combo? If you don’t want to decide, see below. 🙂

Right now through Sunday, April 21st, we’ve got an I Want it All New Colors Bundle for $79 that includes: 14 sheets of cardstock (2 of each color), 7 full size ink pads, 7 mini ink pads, Clearly Crafty True Colors May 2023 stamp set, and True Colors May 2023 labels. It’s a great way to add all 7 of the colors to your own collection! Offer valid while supplies last.

Hey Dude.

How do you make a dude card? Find some fun outdoor stamps and stencils, add great muted colors in any hue and voila. The new Taylored Expressions Dude release makes it easy, and a special offer (details below) this week will jump-start the creativity.

For my first set of cards I used the Great Outdoor Stencils which are basically a mini-Create-in-Quad. You get four fabulous designs with each 6×6 creation. Perfect for creating focal points and cut-outs to add to your card creations. After the magical layered ink blending, small icon stamps allow you to create special little scenes.

Here I have paired Honey, Confetti Cake, Avocado, Macaron, and Toffee cardstock with the new Woodgrain Cardstock for a soothing palette that’s perfect for any man in your life. The Circle Stacklets and Circle Ridged Stacklets that add texture without a cut-out are fantastic. The graduated circle cutouts draw interest without adding excess bulk or bumps. I’ve finished these off with Dude Sentiments – from the set of the same name and a little bit of twine.

I think most masculine cards tend to be clean and simple, and the new Through the Woods stamps and dies are an incredible addition to the Taylored Expressions collection. Classic firs and limbs that will be used over and over, across several seasons. While I’ve chosen to accent with one simple evergreen here, I’m ecstatic to have these stamps.

I blended a circle background of Pineapple, Candy Corn, and Guava, then accented with a sentiment and flying eagle from the Great Outdoors accessory stamps (included with the stencil purchase). The panel is finished off with the cutout tree (Tropical Punch) color and a few easy strips to ground the focal point. The entire layer is popped up on Candy Corn cardstock.

You’ll love how these amazing products all pair so easily together, and to help you get started. Taylor has a fun special offer this week:

When you purchase the Great Outdoors Bundle (Great Outdoors Layering Stencil & Clear Combo set, Through the Woods stamp set, Through the Woods die collection, Dude Sentiments stamp set, and Dude Sentiments die collection) through Sunday, May 14th, you will get a crafting kit and free exclusive video craft-along class with Susan Block!

This craft-along class is a great way for you to put your new goodies to use right away making projects at your own pace! Watch the video as often as you like and learn some new card-making tips and tricks!

Once you complete your purchase, you will receive an email (separate from your order confirmation email) with links to the class video.

Hurry! This offer is only valid through 11:59 pm (Central Time) on Sunday, May 14th, or while supplies last.

Happy Birthday!

It’s my birthday month, and Taylored Expressions, is coincidentally celebrating with a birthday themed release this week! So many fun things in store for TE fans this month. It’s going to be aMAYzing. Let’s PARTY!

You’ll love this release to celebrate milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations! Here I have paired a few previously released Stamp Joy favorites to create a super fun birthday card. The Party Vibes background stamp and Treat Yo Self sentiments make fast and cute cards for all ages. Here, I’ve added accents from the adorable new All Around Birthday – stamped in Jelly Donut and cut with the single pass die. They make a great accent for the Open Scallop Die that is set on a simple vellum layer. I’ve added silver Glitter Drops to the Cookie Monster and Jelly Donut palette.

Next up, I paired the same Party Vibes background with Treat Yo Self and the Just a Number dies with Backers to the Frame in Frame dies to create a cute shaker card. I have some special birthdays coming up in my family, including my daughter who turns an unbelievable 23 in a few weeks! The Building Blocks – Milestones stamp and die combination are a great little add-on to kick things up a notch!

My shaker is filled with little bits cut from the All Around – Birthday, Snow Flurries sequins and Sparkly Stars to create fun shimmer and shake.

My last two cards feature the Birthday Balloons Stencil and Die combo. This is fun to create backdrop balloons or stand-alone balloons that will hold a big milestone number cut from the Just a Number dies and backer dies. The Swirls Pierce and Cut plate makes a sweet backdrop. Notice the texture that is accentuated by the balloons blended through the stencil with my TE Blender Brushes. Finally, I used the new Rounded Rectangle and Rounded Rectangle Ridged Stacklets to create a fun frame.

My youngest daughter turns 21, also in a few weeks. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Being the girls’ mom is my greatest joy. This card is for her. I love the Sugar Cube inked stars with the blended balloon. Such a fun, transparent look!

My colors for this card are Cookie Monster, Jelly Donut, Plum Punch, and Passion Fruit, but the TE palette makes creating in any combination of colors fun and easy. Can’t wait to see what you design!

Right now through Sunday, May 7th, when your order totals $75 or more, you will receive the Treats Bundle (Little Bits – Cake & Stand die collection, Little Bits – Sundae die collection, and Little Bits – Cupcake die collection) FREE! These sweet treats are perfect for adding to your projects that celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and more! Offer valid while supplies last.

Here Comes the Sun

Absolutely in love with the Here Comes the Sun kit from Taylored Expressions. Limited quantities, I don’t think this one will be around long! So stinking cute! Mix and match the pieces for adorable hellos in a mailbox near you soon!

I used the new Radiant Cutting Plate to make my rainbow background. It takes a few cuts upfront, but then you have options for 11 different backgrounds right off the bat! You simply alter your rainbow order by one open space. I love this little sunshine die and the options for radiants behind the circle glow.

Here I’ve paired the rainbow with the Cloud Stacklets that are (thankfully!) making a comeback to the TE Store. These versatile clouds never left rotation in my die bin when they retired. I use them all the time. I thought the little faces from the Here Comes the Sun set were adorable. The Frame-in-Frame series dies in white showcase your design perfectly.

The TE cardstock colors to create my bright rainbow are: Plum Punch, Jelly Donut, Gumball, Cookie Monster, Cilantro, Green Apple, Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn, Cherry Pop, Lollipop, and Strawberry Milkshake. YUMMY!

For my second design, I used the Radiant Cutting Plate to ink blend a variety of warm shades around the sun with the cute “Here’s to another trip round the sun” sentiment. The colors I used are Pineapple, Banana Cream Pie, Guava, Pink Lemonade, Raspberry Sorbet, Mulled Wine, Sweet Potato Pie, and Peaches n Cream. My sentiment is embossed in white on the middle of the sun that is popped up. The entire panel was splattered with Bleed Proof White.

And one more bonus card this week. I loved the little “you melt my heart” sentiment. I thought it paired well with a big puffy cloud heart, the Cloudy Skies cutting plate, and the sunshine die from the Here Comes the Sun kit. I embossed my sentiment in white on vellum to attach to the card base. I added a few of the white hearts from Bits ‘n Pieces around the sentiment.

Tip: I like to stack multiple layers of cardstock with the A2 Cutting Frames that are the same color. They build interest without being busy!
